We heard you loud and clear

When describing Auto Text Expander, people said "mission critical", "lifesaver", and our personal favorite, "a tool that works like Magic." With the new brand, Magical, we aspire to live up to this name in every sense. We read your feedback, met with several of you, and added new critical features. Below are the awesome features now available.

Automated backups

By far, the biggest pain-point we heard among users is that shortcuts are being lost. We're happy to report that we've solved this problem once and for all. All of your shortcuts will be stored and encrypted to ensure you never lose your data again. To do this, we will be using Google Auth so that your data is protected and backed up. In place of this exciting feature, we will be deprecating the existing backup option.

More than 1,000+ new sites now supported

Our app now works on 1000+ additional web applications and sites such as Salesforce, Jira, LinkedIn, Facebook, Whatsapp, Outlook (web), and many other internal and external applications

Search capabilities

We heard that many of you often forget shortcuts and you would like a simple way to search for them. Problem solved 🙌🏽. Simply type // in any field or text box where you're inserting your shortcut, and you'll see a dropdown appear with all of your shortcuts. Search based on the content within your shortcut (or the shortcut name) to find it. This replaces the omnibox toolbar search.

Unlimited number of shortcuts

We heard in some cases, that power users are hitting the limit of the storage provided. We have now made shortcuts unlimited.

Uncapped character count per shortcuts

Expanded shortcut content will now be unlimited, allowing you to build lengthier messages and emails.

Supporting UTF-8 characters and emojis

We now support UTF-8 characters (谢谢你), enabling users to create shortcuts in other languages! You can also have shortcuts with emojis 🚀 😍 🤗 🍾 🎉

Updated design and user interface

We heard from many of you that you would like to see a cleaner user interface. We've spent time and effort here to allow you to quickly add shortcuts, understand and engage with any new features, and ultimately become more productive. This will continue to evolve over time.
