Insert LinkedIn variables into your shortcuts
The 4 simple steps:
- Create a variable LinkedIn shortcut. This is super easy! For public LinkedIn (the base LinkedIn platform everyone uses) just select the shortcut titled ;-l from the checklist on the side of your workspace under the add variable shortcut item. If you use LinkedIn Talent or LinkedIn Sales: create your variables first on those pages! You can find how to create variables and insert them into shortcuts here.
- Open a LinkedIn profile or keep your LinkedIn tab open. Make sure this tab stays open when you expand your shortcut!
- Expand your variable shortcut. Open a destination that you want to insert your shortcut into: this can be anywhere on the web but we see users commonly use Gmail or LinkedIn messenger! Type your shortcut trigger (or type // if you forgot) and expand! You'll see an option to fill with your variables. If you don't see this, or you only see the unfilled option, take a look to see if your LinkedIn profile is still open.
- Voila! You've saved a ton of time :)
